who's this pitcher who was using an alias in the major leagues?  he was Fausto Carmona (So operatic it's obviously made up) and now he's merely Roberto Hernandez?  he managed to pitch well for the Rays with his new (maybe real) name and got the W.  but what an odd story.  haven't heard the half of it yet.

certainly didn't think that this painting was going to come out so well.  it was done for my father's cousin Neil who turned 90 recently.  As an avid birder he has logged nearly all the species in North America, not to mention the thousands of birds he's seen around the world.  So I decided to paint him a crow, it's one of the most common native birds and said to be one of the most intelligent.  I do love watching crows.  the partly was fun.  there were 4 Neils, and I think we were all the second son in our respective families.

I think this one has been batting around about 2 years now.  really thought I got somewhere with a painting tonight but there was way too much glare when I tried to take a photo.
